Cute Baby things!

I've been busier than ever knitting away for our new arrival (I love knitting baby things as they are finished so quickly!)

Here are a few of the things I've recently completed:

  • Hooded jumper knitted in supersoft Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino. I started this before we found out we were almost certainly expecting a boy, so I hope the colour isn't too girly! The pattern was lovely to knit and can be found in the new Debbie Bliss book, Baby Cashmerino 3

  • Angora baby bootees - the ultimate in luxury, knitted with Maggi's Angora, which I will hopefully be stocking very soon!

  • Baby bolero, knitted with just over one ball of Lion Brand Nature's Choice Organic Cotton - perfect for baby items as it's supersoft and comes in a lovely range of subtle colours. Perfect gift for a new arrival

  • Garter stitch baby hat. I knitted this using the left overs from the baby bolero

And finally, so Milly wasn't left out, a new winter hat to go with her school uniform, knitted with Artesano Aran, another yarn I will be stocking soon.

All that is left for me to decide is what to knit next...? mmmm....

Baby Squash Hat

Just finished knitting this cute hat using some cream merino DK I found in my stash. It was going to be for our new January arrival, but I decided to give it to Becky who is due any day now - she doesn't know if Baby is a boy or a girl so cream is perfect. Just the thing to keep a little head warm this Autumn.

I think I'm going to knit one now for Baby Beech No 2 in some Debbie Bliss Rialto DK, which is fantastic value and supersoft. Maybe in a darker colour....blue maybe....?!

Aftermath

Phew! Just sorting out everything in the aftermath of Queen's Park Day

Here's a pic of the stall, manned by Karen and Carol - I think it looked fab. We had glorious weather , almost too good to contemplate selling wintery woolly knit kits!

But it was a good day, all in all. Met loads of lovely people and handed out lots of flyers. and discussed running some knitting classes with someone - so watch this space!

Next crafty event is Handm@de in Oxford on the 9th November. If you're in the area, please pop in and see us.

'Juliet' Cardigan

Finally finished Suzy's 'Juliet' cardigan in a soft dove grey Debbie Bliss Rialto, (yarn purchased at Cafe Knit of course!) and gave it to her last week. Hope she likes it - anyway, she was too polite to say she didn't!

Still busy knitting examples for the knitting kits for Queens Park day. I'm determined to be organised and not to be up at all hours finishing things off the night before. Have nearly finished a lovely soft baby blanket in apple green Lion Brand Homespun, and I'm halfway through a very easy, funky baby hat knitted in a strawberry shade of Nature's Choice Organic Cotton by Lion Brand. (Might have to make one of those for our new arrival in January!)

My evenings are being kept busy packing up Cafe Knit orders, which is fantastic. It really is a reality, sometimes I have to pinch myself.

Archie Beanie Hat

I couldn't resist - here is Archie modelling the simple crochet beanie hat, using Lion Brand Cotton Ease that I have been working on for Queen's Park Day. I'm naming it the 'Archie Beanie' in his honour.
What a heartbreaker....!

Busy Bee

Now http://www.cafeknit.com/ is up and running, I can turn my hand to the next event - Queens Park Day on 14th September 2008. If you are in North West London that Sunday , please come and visit the Cafe Knit stall, we would love to meet you.

So, I am busy putting together all the knitting kits we will be selling on the day and knitting up samples, so you can see what you are buying! At the moment I am knitting a beautiful grey sequined cobweb mohair scarf, which would make an ideal gift for Christmas, either as a kit or knitted up for someone. We'll also be selling our popular children's knitting kits, and many others such as sock kits, beanie hats and much much more.....

Been slack

I know, I've been totally neglecting this blog.

I've had other things to do you know.

Visit http://www.cafeknit.com/ and see what's been taking up all my time.

I'll get back on the case tomorrow - I can assure you one thing I haven't been neglecting is my knitting. Housework yes, knitting never.
